Wouldn’t it be reassuring to know there were people who would stand up for you in your absence?
In your circle who would that be, and how would you know?
It is a simple test.
Take note of what those around you do for others not in the room when they are spoken about negatively. Do they add to the commentary? Do they let the criticism flow and say nothing? Or do they take a stance and pull it up?
How they treat others in their absence is a good indication of how they treat you.
On the flip side, what are your actions?
Again, it is a simple test.
Would the conversation be the same if the person were present?
If not, do you go into battle to defend someone in their absence?
It’s all a matter of integrity.
