Less Stress, More Energy: What AI Is Really Doing For Leaders

What if the most immediate benefit of AI wasn’t about productivity, but how it changes the way you feel about your work?

A recent study from Harvard University, in partnership with Procter & Gamble, found that people using AI reported significantly higher levels of positive emotions (excitement, energy, and enthusiasm) compared to those working without it.

They also reported lower levels of anxiety and frustration.

I re-read that finding multiple times.

Over the last year, I’ve worked with school leaders at various levels, across several states, both in-person and online and watched leaders light up with renewed energy. This week, I actually heard leaders state they were excited about the potential of this technology.

Excitement for what this technology could create, not just what it could save.

They spoke about how this could support teachers to do more of the work they love and pinpoint how to support students’ learning with precision.

The mood was hopeful. And I couldn’t help but wonder:

If AI-related questions were added to the Australian Principal Health & Wellbeing Survey, would we see a correlation in the data between AI use and health and wellbeing measures?

Would we find that leaders using AI experience less stress, less mental load and more clarity, energy, and satisfaction?

Let me know, do you feel more energised and excited about your work after seeing the potential of AI?
