We are not in high school anymore

Are you returning to work for the new year with the hope the Christmas break has given everyone the time and space to calm the farm?

Because, the dynamic in the team at the end of last year resembled the social interaction of year nine high schoolers.

The women’s behaviour could make a case study for Queenbees and Wannabes, with individuals not talking, isolating others after a falling out, and there’s a general undercurrent of walking on broken glass. The men on the other hand, have dropped a few expletives, have offered to step outside to sort it out or just written off others as complete tossers.

It screams of team culture. And nothing changes, if nothing changes.

Actually, what will change is people will walk. Out the door. To another job.

But that doesn’t resolve the underlying problem.

Rather than have team meetings that resemble lunch break in the B block locker room, take my assessment to get a team performance profile and proactive steps to set up a positive start for your leadership team in 2024.
